THE WAY WE………….

Every day we walk, talk, eat, and think. Often these activities have a bearing on our emotions and the way we are then able to rest or sleep. Under the difficult times of ‘lockdown’ many people have struggled to get to sleep or wake in the night worrying about the conditions of the world, what they will  eat tomorrow, how their actions of the day may have affected others, and how they are going to generally feel tomorrow surviving off just a couple of hours sleep.

We all need hope especially at this time, and there is a HOPE that we can all share in. It’s called the Call of the Gospel and can be found in the Bible.

We cannot change the process of life with it’s ups and downs. This is natural for us all to experience. In the Bible within the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3, it describes that there is a time for everything e.g. a time to be born and a time to die, a time to weep and a time to laugh. Some experiences we go through we don’t like and find hard, but it’s how we deal with these experiences that build our character and make us who we are.

Let us turn at these times and seek comfort and strength from the word of God, whose promises are firm and cannot be broken. Before David became King of Israel he went through such hardship in his life, and numerous psalms tell us how he turned to the ONE he knew that could help him. Others that were close friends and family had failed to keep their promises due to changing circumstances at that time, which we know can be true to our lives. In David’s distress he turns to God and says - that God is His refuge, His fortress and His God, and in Him, will he trust.

Most of us during lockdown have been able to walk on paths and roads where we live, our gardens, on the mountains or within the forestry nearby. We have probably all seen the signs of spring appearing, snowdrops and daffodils starting to bud, sheep ready to give birth to their young, our eyes becoming more observant and our feet taking firmer steps as the darkened evenings become lighter and lengthened. As we walk in the light we are surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation.

God wanted to show us the full ‘light’ of the world in his son.  Jesus says “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8 V12. This is a promise made to us all, that we can share together and know is True, for all the promises of God in Jesus Christ preached was not yea and nay but in him are yea, and in him Amen (11 Corinthian 1 v 19)

Let us be reassured and comforted by these words which are true and firm and may our sleep be restful.

Let us awaken re-freshed, ready to learn more of God’s words within the Bible, placing our Hope in his ultimate promise of a better world – The GOOD NEWS, which is God’s Kingdom on Earth. At this time God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

This is God’s Kingdom on Earth promised for those who seek it, and God’s pleasure to give it to us (Luke 12 v32).

Let us be willing to put our trust in this Firm source, giving us a true and beautiful HOPE, that we can all share together!
